Self doubt  is something which most of us go through. One of my clients was majorly under self doubt with respect to almost all aspects of his life. It was holding him back from seizing his opportunities. He was finding it harder to start or finish things than they actually were.

Through our coaching sessions we came up with few ways to get over the self doubt.

  1. First, whenever a self doubt comes up , it should be stopped then and there. Instead of making it spin out of control, talk back to that doubtful part of yourself.

In our mind say something positive like No, I am capable of doing much better.

This way you can disrupt the negative thought pattern.


  1. It is very important that we share our thought with someone. Whenever a self doubt comes we should talk to someone close about it. Often just letting them out helps us realise how exaggerated our thoughts are. Also, talking about it to someone who is supportive helps us see the change in perspective. 
  2. Most of the times we doubt ourselves because we worry about what others will think or say about us. But, the truth is that people don’t really care that much about what you do or not do. So, stop worrying and start living,


Gradually, as he started applying these tips into his daily life he was able to move forward with much more confidence. He realised that self doubt is just a monster in our head. Its keeps us away from making changes and keeps us within our comfort zone.
